Extend Your Stay

There are many wonderful places to visit and things to do in Nepal if you have a few days free at the end of your stay.

Our most popular request is for some chill out time by the lake at Pokhara.

We’ve created a 3 day package including travel and hotels to give you an idea of what’s possible and costs but will be really happy to tailor an itinerary to your happiness ideas.

Things to do in Pokhara:

  • Chill out by the lake in one of the many cafes and their verdant gardens
  • Paraglide – tandem flights or learn to fly yourself
  • Mountain bike – everything from gentle pedals to big hill adventures
  • Sit back and gaze at the glorious Annapurna range
  • Hike – half day hikes to the Peace Pagoda and other sites; short treks; long treks
  • Indulge in spa treatments and pool side lounging
  • Take a rowing boat out and drift around the calm waters
  • Sample local coffees, great food and spiky cocktails

Three day package option:

We suggest taking a Tourist standard bus to Pokhara departing 7am, a great way to see something of rural Nepal arrives midday to early afternoon. We book you in to a 3 star hotel lakeside for 3 nights. This gives two full days and two half days to do your thing. Fly back to Kathmandu on the 4th afternoon – takes around 30 minutes.

A three night extension to Pokhara driving out from Kathmandu and flying back with 3 nights B&B at a 3 star hotel costs USD $415 pp (Price based on minimum 2 people)

Get into the jungle beat with a couple of days safari in Chitwan National Park. Fly down and back with transfer by jeep to our lovely spa resort, Kasara. Head out on foot safari or get further into the jungle by jeep; meet our elephants and maybe go bathe with them; drift down the river in a dug-out canoe spotting birds, crocodiles and other wildlife and relax by our sparkling blue pool in the resort. Plenty to do, all at a very gentle pace.

Kathmandu Valley

Get beyond the crazy streets in Nepal’s capital city with a bundle of mini adventures from Vespa city tours; making momo and dhal bhaat with locals; day hikes up through the Tibetan monasteries to the surrounding hills; overnight at Namo Buddha or Nargakot for spectacular Himalayan panoramas and cosy hotels; take a break at Shivapuri Heights cottage just 40 minutes’ drive but a world away; meet the artisans rebuilding the UNESCO World Heritage sites at Bhaktapur. There’s lots to do!

Stay East

If you’ve finished the ride and don’t wish to raft there are some great adventures to be had in the Eastern region.

You’re right under the eyes of Kanchenjunga, world’s 3rd highest mountain and one of the most beautiful. We can help you trek up to the Northern Base Camp, a two week round trip using local lodges. We know this area very well and have many friends in the village along the way who’ll surely give you a very warm welcome.

Visit Paradise Cottages Eco Resort in Pashupatinagar for a real getaway and time to explore the local tea gardens, the Indian border and some stunning view points

From Taplejung jeep then hike up to Phatibara, the 3800m high Shiva temple at the top of the ridge. You’ll be amongst pilgrims from all over India and Nepal – an intriguing and heart-warming experience – and a pretty epic day hike!
